Tell me what made you look for support. We can make sense of the question together and consider whether my approach and online sessions fit your needs.

A free 30-minute discovery call online lets you speak with me before committing to therapy.
Come on your own or with your partner. We speak in English, wherever you are based, and discuss your situation, questions and possible next steps.
Choose a time for your call. The calendar shows your local time zone. You can also read the client policy or contact me.
These reviews come from clients of my practice who chose to share their experience on Google. An independent review service displays them here. They reflect individual experiences across my work, rather than a promise about what therapy will achieve for you.
I’m Mark Colclough, MA, a psychotherapist and couples therapist. I began working with clients in October 2004 and now offer online work in English to individuals and couples in different countries.
My background combines psychosynthesis and depth-oriented psychotherapy with further couples training, emotion-focused therapy and attachment theory. Being raised in English and Danish cultures, and living and working in nine countries, also shapes my understanding of life between cultures.
Read about my training, clinical experience and approach, or explore individual psychotherapy and couples therapy.
I have been in regular clinical supervision since 2009. Conversations with experienced supervisors in Denmark and abroad help me examine my thinking, consider difficulties and continue developing my practice.
Professional reflection and accountability are part of how I work.
Request a call or choose an appointment in the calendar. You can ask questions before deciding which type of support to begin.

Sometimes you need to meet the therapist before you can decide whether to begin.
You may know that something needs attention but feel uncertain about the kind of help to choose. A brief conversation gives us a chance to consider that together.
I listen, ask questions and explain my initial view. We do not begin therapy during this call.
Individual therapy, couples work and attending alone serve different needs. Describe your situation and I will help you consider a starting point.
Reading a website is different from speaking with someone. You can hear how I understand your concerns and ask how I would approach them.
If previous therapy did not help, tell me what felt missing. We can discuss how my way of working compares and whether trying again feels worthwhile.
You may be ready for help while your partner is hesitant. We can discuss what couples therapy involves and whether to begin together or individually.
A difficult period can make it hard to choose support. We can consider the options and my availability. A discovery call does not provide emergency care.
Ask about privacy, online arrangements or fees. Clear information may help you decide whether to take the next step.
If you need therapeutic support soon, contact me about availability or request a session. For immediate danger or a medical emergency, contact emergency services where you are.

Leave your details and a brief outline of what you would like to discuss. I will contact you as soon as I can.
Please keep sensitive therapeutic details for our conversation.
Your enquiry is handled confidentially. Please avoid sending detailed or highly sensitive clinical information through this form. Read the privacy policy for information about how your details are processed.
The call gives you information and a sense of the fit. The decision remains yours.
We focus on what you need to decide now: whether to begin therapy, which format to choose and what working together would involve.
You may book, take time to reflect, speak with your partner or look for another kind of support.
Notice how it feels to speak with me and whether my questions help. I will also be direct if I think another practitioner would be more suitable.
We can consider whether to focus on your own experiences, the pattern between you and your partner, or your relationship while attending alone.
Regular appointments, an initial session or a planned series may each be appropriate. We can discuss a starting rhythm and whether online work suits your circumstances.
You are welcome to ask what I would pay attention to and why. I can give an initial understanding while recognising what a short call cannot establish.
Therapy asks for openness, reflection and willingness to try different responses between sessions. We can discuss what that would mean for you or for both partners.
We aim to make the immediate decision clearer. You might request a session, talk with your partner or read the bundle conditions before deciding.

We use the thirty minutes to understand your question and consider a useful next step.
I ask what brought you here and what you need help deciding. We explore the most relevant points, then leave space for your questions and a discussion of what comes next.
You can begin with the difficulty that matters today. There is no need to prepare a polished account or explain your whole history.
Tell me what you would want from therapy. Understanding your aims helps us consider whether my approach is appropriate.
I share what I understand from our conversation. This is an initial view, rather than the fuller understanding that develops through therapy.
If I think I can help, I explain which format I would suggest and why. If another type of support seems more appropriate, I say so.
You can ask about my training, approach, confidentiality, online sessions or fees. We give your questions space within the time available.
There is no requirement to book during our conversation. You can request a session later or decide not to continue. The call remains free.
No. The call lasts up to thirty minutes and is free, whether or not you go on to book therapy.
It is a conversation about your needs and options, rather than a therapy session. If you want to begin therapeutic work, request a paid appointment.
No. Start with what is happening now and the question you want help with. You do not need a diagnosis or a full account of your past.
Yes, if you are considering couples therapy. One partner may also attend, although I cannot assess someone who is not present.
Yes. We can discuss individual therapy, couples work or relationship work alone and consider which is a suitable starting point.
What you share is confidential within the legal and safety limits described in the client policy. You can ask me about those limits during the call.
We meet online using an offered format, such as Zoom or agreed WhatsApp audio. Choose a quiet, private place and check the time zone displayed when you book.
I will be open about that. Where possible, I can suggest the type of support you might look for instead.
No. You can take time to decide. If we agree to continue, paid sessions follow the booking and payment conditions in the client policy.
Use the booking page to choose the free discovery call and a suitable time. If you need help with the booking, get in touch.
