Your shared life may run smoothly while affection and emotional contact feel harder to reach. You can use this programme to explore what happens when one of you reaches out and the other hesitates.
You meet with Mark Colclough, MA, for a focused programme built around one difficulty in your relationship. Both partners take part, with room to understand your different experiences and practise a more useful response.
Begin with a free 30-minute Zoom onboarding call together, so that the focus and suitability are clear before your sessions.
Your programme includes three two-hour sessions, normally about 14 days apart, with at least one practical exercise to complete and return before each following session.
A complimentary 30-minute Zoom review approximately one month after completion gives you space to discuss what has held and where you need an adjustment.
You may feel more like co-managers than partners, avoid affection because it seems to imply sex, or stop initiating to protect yourself from rejection. Emotional closeness, affectionate touch and sexual connection can be discussed separately, at a pace that respects both partners.
This focused format is unsuitable where there is violence, intimidation or coercive control, an active affair, unresolved serious betrayal, active addiction, acute crisis, or uncertainty about staying together. Tell Mark about these concerns during the initial assessment so a different form of support can be considered. Harm and coercion are not treated as a shared communication problem.
This is relationship work about closeness, not specialist sex therapy. If pain, a medical condition or medication is central to the difficulty, discuss appropriate medical or specialist support.
Trace how the distance developed and what reaching out has come to mean for each of you.
Explore pressure, uncertainty and protective responses, then practise clearer invitations and boundaries.
Consider what felt different between sessions and agree realistic ways to sustain contact.

You attend online in English from a private space with a reliable connection. The booking calendar displays your local time; office hours and policy deadlines refer to Copenhagen time. Both partners need to participate.

Bring a recent example and the question you want help with. The onboarding call helps you and Mark agree a manageable focus; if several issues need attention, open-ended couples therapy may be more suitable.
You can work towards recognising your pattern earlier and practising different responses. The outcome depends on your circumstances and participation; a fixed number of sessions cannot guarantee a particular result.
This programme requires both of you. If your partner will not participate, relationship work alone is a separate option.
