Is this the right page for you?

This is for you if…

Acute online ADHD couples therapy alone is for one person, wherever you live, when ADHD is part of a relationship that has just hit a crisis and your partner is not taking part. You may be the one with ADHD, or the one who has carried the load.

  • Your partner has left or asked for a break after one slip too many.
  • You are the partner without ADHD, and you have nothing left to give.
  • Shame is so loud that you cannot think about anything else.
  • Something you did on impulse has just come to light.
  • You lie awake replaying what you should have done differently.
  • You feel driven to fix everything immediately, with promises or big gestures.
  • You want a therapist who understands ADHD and keeps things short and structured.
  • You would like to meet by video, at an hour that suits your time zone.

This is probably not for you if…

This one is for a single person in the first rough weeks. These may suit you better:

What clients say

These reviews describe clients’ experiences of working with me. They come from my wider practice and do not all relate to online sessions. Each person’s experience is their own, and a review does not promise a particular outcome.

Mark’s view

“In my experience, people who come alone after an ADHD relationship has cracked are carrying one of two heavy loads. Some have ADHD and arrive soaked in shame, sure they have ruined everything again. Others have been the organiser for years and arrive hollowed out, angry and guilty for being angry. Both deserve kindness, and both deserve the truth. My first job is to take enough pressure off that you can look at what happened without drowning in it. From there, better decisions follow almost by themselves.”

Supervision supports the quality of my work

Therapy needs reflection and accountability

I meet regularly with experienced psychotherapists to reflect on my work, question my understanding and develop my skills. Supervision is part of the professional care I bring to individual and couples work, including online sessions.

My focus is thoughtful practice, integrity and responsibility.

Let’s discuss online therapy

You are welcome to ask about the kind of support you need.

Tell me where you are based and your time zone. We can then consider whether online sessions together are suitable.

A typical situation

Miguel has ADHD and lives in Madrid with his partner Elena. After he forgets to pay their rent for the second time in a year, Elena moves to her sister’s and says she needs a month to think. Miguel stops sleeping, sends a stream of long apologies and starts planning a surprise trip to win her back.

In our first online session we put the trip on hold. We write a short plan: sleep, one friend to call each evening, a single honest message to Elena and a standing order for the rent. Two weeks later Elena agrees to meet for coffee. Miguel arrives calm.

I have presented this clinical example as a compound of 22 years of clinical practice.

When acute online ADHD couples therapy alone fits

The relationship has cracked, and you are the one sitting with the pieces.

Maybe your partner has left, asked for a break or refuses to talk. Maybe they just will not come to therapy. Either way, you are the one asking for help, and that is a good place to start.

One person who calms down and sees the pattern can change a surprising amount, whatever the other decides.

Did your partner just leave after one mistake too many?

Sometimes a partner leaves after a long run of small slips, with one forgotten thing as the final straw. If you have ADHD, that can feel brutally unfair and deeply shaming at once.

We look at the whole story, not only the last mistake.

Are you the partner without ADHD, and completely worn out?

If you are the partner without ADHD, you may have been reminding, organising and covering for years. Now you are empty, and guilty for feeling that way.

Your tiredness is real, and it deserves room.

Is shame keeping you from thinking straight?

Shame can make the ADHD mind race, freeze or swing into frantic action. None of those helps you think.

We bring the shame down first, so the facts can be looked at calmly.

Has something you did on impulse just blown up?

A spending spree, a careless message or a risky decision may have set things off. Now you want to undo it all at once.

We separate what can be repaired now from what needs time.

Are you lying awake running through what you should have done?

Many people in this spot lie awake replaying conversations and listing what they should have done.

We turn that loop into a short, written plan you can actually follow.

Do you want to fix everything by tomorrow?

The urge to fix everything immediately, with grand promises or big gestures, is strong. Often it makes things worse.

Small, visible steps do far more good.

Does this sound like you? Request a call or book a session, and we will start with the coming days.

What acute online ADHD couples therapy alone helps you do

Settle first. See clearly next. Decide only after that.

Acute online ADHD couples therapy alone moves through those three steps. We bring your stress down, look honestly at the pattern between you and your partner, and only then weigh up the options.

How do we get you through this week?

We write a very short plan for the next few days: sleep, food, one or two people to lean on and clear limits on contact with your partner.

Short and written is much easier to follow when your head is full.

Can you avoid the impulsive message at 2 a.m.?

Yes. Impulsive messages in the middle of the night are common in shock, especially with ADHD. We agree a simple rule: write it, save it, look at it again in daylight.

What can you say to your partner that actually helps?

We draft a few honest sentences: what you understand, what you are sorry for, what you need. No speeches, no pleading.

What can you change, and what is out of your hands?

You cannot decide whether your partner stays, returns or comes to therapy. You can decide how you behave, which systems you put in place and what you will accept.

How do you work out what you want now?

Once you are steadier, we look at what you really want: to repair, to wait or to let go. You do not have to know today.

What happens when the first shock has passed?

Some people go on to online ADHD couples therapy alone at a calmer pace. Some invite their partner into joint sessions. Some move towards separation. Whatever you pick, you pick it with a clear head.

How acute online ADHD couples therapy alone begins

No diagnosis letter, no plan and no perfect words needed. Just log in.

Our first sessions are about what has happened, how you are coping and what the next few days need.

If another kind of help would suit you better now, I will say so.

What happens in my first session of acute online ADHD couples therapy alone?

It is one hour by video. We go through what happened, how you are sleeping and who is around you, and finish with a short written plan.

Will the sessions suit my ADHD?

Yes. I keep things structured and recap often. You can move, fidget or take notes, and I will send you the key points in writing if that helps.

How fast can I begin?

Usually within days, depending on my calendar. Book the earliest open slot or request a call, with a line about what has happened.

How often do we meet at first?

Early on, acute online ADHD couples therapy alone runs at a quicker rhythm than ordinary therapy. As you steady, the gaps grow.

Should I buy a bundle?

A crisis like this often needs several sessions in quick succession. A bundle gives you a plan, a lower price per session and nothing extra to remember. See the cards below.

When is the worst over?

You are sleeping again, the shame has eased and you can think about the relationship without spiralling. Then we look further ahead.

How it works with me

  1. Book a session or ask for a free 30-minute call, with a line about what has happened.
  2. Your first session lasts one hour, by video. We look at the events, how you are coping and what the next few days need.
  3. Early on we meet more often, and you get a short written summary after each session.
  4. As you steady, we decide together: more work alone, joint sessions with your partner or help through a separation.
  5. If you expect several sessions, a therapy bundle saves you 10 per cent and gives you a clear plan from the start. You can see the bundles just below.

Frequently asked questions

What is acute online ADHD couples therapy alone?

It is short, structured support by video for one person whose relationship has just hit a crisis in which ADHD plays a part, when the partner is not joining. We steady you, look at the pattern and plan your next step. It is offered in English, worldwide.

I have ADHD. Is this page for me?

Yes. Many people with ADHD come alone after a partner has had enough. We look at what happened without shame, and at what you can change.

My partner has ADHD, I do not. Is this for me?

Yes. Many partners without ADHD come because they are exhausted and need somewhere to think. Your needs matter here as much as anyone’s.

Will you help me get my partner back?

I cannot promise that, and I will not help you pressure anyone. I can help you act in a way you respect, which gives repair its best chance if it is possible.

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. A suspicion or a self-recognised ADHD profile is enough. What matters is how it shows up in daily life.

Can my partner join later?

Yes. When they are ready, joint acute online ADHD couples therapy or calmer online ADHD couples therapy can follow.

Should I tell my partner I am seeing you?

That is your choice. Some people tell their partner, some keep it private for now. We can think through what feels right and safe.

How many sessions might I need?

It differs. A few sessions steady some people; others want close support for several weeks. We review as we go.

What does acute online ADHD couples therapy alone cost?

Solo sessions are one hour long, online. Fees in US dollars are on the prices page, and a bundle brings them down by 10 per cent.

How do I book?

Pick a time in the booking calendar, or request a free 30-minute call. If nothing is early enough, send me a message.
